According to the Palm Beach Post article, you are more likely to be killed by a ride on lawn mower than a shark.  Believe it.  More than 235,000 people and almost 20,000 kids are injured (including killed) by lawn mowers (read it)
That is why we developed the safest, easiest to use robot lawn mower in the world.  No other lawn mower or robot lawn mower comes close to our ease of use and safety.   We even share profits with charities that help kids.  SmartMow robot lawn mower, get it at SmartMow.com.

In the above video, me - Mike Letsky, the inventor of the SmartMow robot lawn mower just explains briefly why I invented the safest robot lawn mower in the world. How easy the SmarMow is to install vs other robot lawn mowers, and how energy efficient the new SmartMow is.

It’s also important to mention that I believe in helping kids - I love them all dearly, so we share revenues from the SmartMow product with charities that help kids.

And every backer for this project is sending a message:  We need a safer lawn mower.

It’s T-shirt design and selection, above are what we came up with this week to help our revolution to change the world, one lawn at a time.  Only SmartMow kickstarter backers get to vote and order these t-shirts.

Every backer we get it sending a message:  We’re tired of kids getting hurt by lawn mowers and we want to do something about it.

So, why haven’t you backed SmartMow yet?

This week Friendly Robotics announced it made a more powerful RoboMow.  But where are the technical specifications?  Not on their website.  And wasn’t it powerful enough to cut grass already?  Why does it need more power?

The above image is just cut and paste from my e-mail from a RoboMow customer.  It says "I use the Friendly Robotics mower, RL 1000 and find it is great but if I put my steel capped boot in the way of the mower, the mower will climb over the boot and not stop until the mower wheel lifts off the ground. What it really needs is a person or ultrasonic sensor to detect solid objects within 7 inches and use that to stop the mower blades."

Let’s look at the RoboMow from some additional safety perspectives:

I would say that I like the increased wide cutting width to get the lawn done faster…but at what cost??  Robomow blades cut outside the wheels which leaves too much room for kids to get injured.  Tell me how safe this sounds…this is straight from the Robomow website.

"Robomow blades stop rotating immediately if it is lifted from the ground or tilted to a vertical position."

I have to ask how much harm could be done to a kid before it is “lifted from the ground or tilted to a vertical position”?

My answer…too much! This is why a proximity sensor is so important and it is only available on the SmartMow.

So, I have to ask.  Do you really want that automated people eater to have more power?

Robot Slope

Do you know what you’re buying with those other robot lawn mowers?  Let’s look at Percent of Grade vs Slope.  At RoboLabs Inc, we use Slope those other guys use Percent of Grade.

Why, you ask?

Let’s look at how Slope is defined (top image, courtesy of Society of Robots)    Now look and see how Percent of Grade is defined (bottom image, courtesy of Rotary Products Inc.)  Did you notice  … Percent of Grade gives you a bigger number than Slope. Marketing people love big numbers ….

Now let’s see howthe new SmartMow  compares to the competition:

According to the chart above, the percent of grade is 100 times the slope. A slope of 1 is  a 100% grade. Therefore, a 45° angle is the same as a 100% grade.

Mower specs with incline capability listed in % grade

John Deere Tango E5 (35%)

Husqvarna Automower 265 ACX (35%)

Mower specs with incline capability listed in degrees

RoboMow RL2000 (15°)

LawnBott LB 3510 (25°)

Let’s do the math ….we find the percent grade from an angle using the tangent of the angle.  tan(θ) = rise/run.  The tangent of a 19.5° angle is close to a 35% grade.  tan (19.5°) = 0.354 = 35.4 % grade

SmartMow Racer can ascend a 35° slope.

tan (35°) = 0.70 = 70% grade

So, now you know the new SmartMow is literally king of the hill. :)

The new SmartMow robot lawn mower in red.  Now you may be asking what this image makes me think about…. well, it makes me think about the pride we take in developing our new SmartMow.
Let’s take a look at how SmartMow’s are designed vs other robot lawn mowers:
SmartMow’s are designed in South Florida and we have to mow our lawn 52 weeks (12 months) a year.  We also have tropical rain storms, excessive heat, and high humidity.  We have the toughest grass and most invasive weeds than anywhere else in the world.  And our new SmartMow is designed tough and to last long.
What about those other guys?
Well, they only need to mow their grass 6 months out of the year.  Enough said?
Think about what your buying.  Do you want a SmartMow that will last you a long time, or someone else’s robot lawn mower that you have to replace parts in every year?
For me, it’s SmartMow - or nothing.

Ride on Lawn Mowers are the most dangerous type of lawn mower that causes injuries in kids.  Why you ask?  Ride on lawn mowers are a lot like cars; except lawn mowers have spinning blades.  Like a Car you can drive the lawn mower, forward and reverse.  In your car, you have a rear view mirror — ever wonder why?
Do you see a rear view mirror on the ride on lawn mower above?  Nope.  Your car might even have a rear view camera, sensors, and similar methods designed specifically to help the driver not back up over a little kid.
Do you see any safety features on the ride on lawn mower above?  Me neither.
When your foot gets run over by a car, what happens?  Now what happens when you add spinning blades designed to mow down thick brush and small trees?  How’s your foot now?
That is why I invented the new SmartMow robot lawn mower to replace these dangerous lawn mowers that destroy children’s lives.
How many kids can we save with the new SmartMow robot lawn mower?  Almost 20,000 kids just in the USA every year!
Even if my SmartMow saves one child, it’s worth it.
That is why I call SmartMow the safest lawn mower in the world.  Not even other robot lawn mowers are safe enough.
